Message from the CEO, September 2022

Hello team and welcome to our latest staff newsletter.

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome in my first couple of months with team Batchelor. It has been a great transition to the NT and life in Batchelor.

Since our last staff newsletter, where we celebrated achieving four finalist spots in the 2022 NT Training Awards, I am thrilled with our win as Large Training Provider of the Year. The success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of team members across the Institute, and we should all be proud of it.

A scroll through this newsletter shows how many awesome things we have accomplished in the last two months. From the Batchelor Seminar Series to the MAP Conference, special workshops, community events, important publications, and a very successful Graduation Day in Alice Springs, our students and staff continue to excel daily.

Recently I invited staff to select five words that reflect our brand and what we do for our customers – our students. We have used the words provided by staff to build a word cloud that reveals how we see ourselves and what we give our students.

These words are like a brand mark for Team Batchelor and are designed to be aspirational. As we go through change, and some of it is challenging, it might not feel like we are delivering on each sentiment every day. But when we feel uncertain about what we are trying to achieve, this diagram can act as a compass to get us back on track.

I added the words collaboration, future, education, pride and partnership. It was great to see words like integrity, inspire and respect coming out at the top of the list. The word cloud is something we can do annually to reflect on changes and improvements. Even now, with recent change processes due to settle shortly, I expect the word cloud will soon illustrate new perspectives and the great attitudes among our team.
