Wadeye garden bearing fruit

Students training in Conservation and Land Management at Wadeye with Jaemie Page. As part of the project with Jobfind CDEP we have built a model garden at the TDC nursery.

Participants have been involved from original planning of the garden design, growing the plants from seed, building the garden, installing the irrigation and carrying out weeding, fertilising and ongoing maintenance. This is the first crop of beans, cucumbers, herbs and pumpkins. Mango, guava, paw paw and other fruit trees are also growing. The garden is a display garden to gain interest in building similar gardens at outstations and around the community.
