Willowra Early Learning Centre runs a Playgroup program for visiting and local carers which is funded by the Warlpiri Education Training Trust in a partnership with Batchelor Institute. A major focus of the program is the upskilling of local Yapa staff.

During 2018, three staff members: Barbara Williams, Janie Williams and Jasmine Spencer completed the Certificate 2 in Family Wellbeing with Batchelor Institute. They were able to travel to the Desert Peoples Centre Campus in Alice Springs for the first two workshops and then complete their studies in Willowra with the Early Learning Centre Coordinator, Dembra Conlon.

This year Janie Williams and Barbara Williams have enrolled in the Certificate 3 in Education and Care and have recently travelled to  Alice Springs for their first workshop. The two staff will continue their studies in community ready for their next workshop in August.
