She was the project manager, researcher and writer for a Batchelor remote area English literacy project designed for construction workers. She has been an English literacy and education lecturer in Central Australia since 2001. She has recently completed research for a Phd on the effects of language policy on remote NT Indigenous communities. This involved ethnographic data collection (community interviews), the analysis of community interviews and policy texts and discourse using content analysis and critical discourse analysis.
