  • Dr Jurg Bronnimann has been working in the tertiary education sector (Universities and Polytechnics) over the last 20 years. As well as having been a lecturer in German literature, language and culture, Jurg was the Programme Director for the Bachelor of Arts at Unitec in New Zealand, where he was responsible for the development of Majors in German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and English as an additional language. Before taking up the post as Manager Curriculum Development, at Bahrain Polytechnic, Dr Bronnimann was the Dean of Teaching and Learning at Unitec.

    Before entering the academic life Dr Bronnimann was an Air Traffic Controller in Geneva, Switzerland.

    Build a broad cultural base for SoTL within the SANTPEN institute partnership
    • The project aims to facilitate an increased understanding, amongst a broader audience of HE staff, of the key SoTL principles considered fundamental to the development of good teaching.
    • Modelling a SoTL approach including developing a reflective-grounded evidence base.
    • Creating new SoTL resources and disseminating them to OLT stakeholders.

    Learning Analytics: Assisting Universities with Student Retention This is a collaborative project funded by an OLT grant between CDU, Batchelor Institute, Griffith University, University of Newcastle, and Murdoch University. The project has three stages:
    • Phase one: there will be mixed method data collection comprised of a literature review, two surveys and a series in-depth interviews
    • Phase two: Data analysis
    • Phase three: National forum to share findings
