Support for Current Staff

The Institute is committed to researcher capacity building and developing and nurturing academic careers. If you are a current staff member with an interest in developing a greater understanding of research, building your research skills or furthering your research expertise please contact the Research Office. You are also always welcome to attend research seminars and events included in the Research Calendar.

Have you completed a recent Staff Researcher Plan? This is an excellent way to begin (or recommence) your research journey with the Institute. It allows you to consider your research experience and goals and share them with the Research team in order to build connections and access relevant support. (Researcher Plan Template)

Are you on the Supervisor Register list? If you have research skills and experience and would like to share these with Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates through your participation on supervisory panels please inform the Research Office. It is a requirement of the Institute that all HDR supervisors engage in formal supervisor training with the Institute. This training is held on a needs basis and it is therefore important to express your interest of becoming a supervisor to the Research Office. Upcoming Supervisor Training events can be reviewed in the Research Calendar.

Are you developing a research proposal and require ethical clearance?  All research conducted by Institute staff requires ethical approval. Information on how to apply for ethical clearance can be found at Research Ethics.

Are you wanting to or planning to present at a Research Conference? The Institute provides financial support in terms of registration fees, conference travel and accommodation costs to approved applications. Please see staff Conference Fund page.

Do you know about the Institutes Research Repository? All research Institutions are required to keep a detailed record of all research publications produced by their staff. The Institute repository is a place for sharing your publications and or accessing research produced by past and current staff at the Institute. Visit the Research Repository.
