How to enrol as Undergraduate

The Higher Education Courses are offered under a joint partnership between the Batchelor Institute and Charles Darwin University (CDU). The courses are delivered by Batchelor Institute lecturers in either mixed mode or external delivery. Mixed mode means that as a student you will attend workshops as well as engage in on-line work. External means that you will do all of your work on-line. Both kinds of courses require you to have will regular access to the internet.

FIRST STEP … SELECT YOUR COURSE

The courses are listed under four key areas. Foundation Studies, Education, Health and Indigenous Knowleges & Policy. Click here to see the list of courses available.

Follow the link of the course in which you are interested in to view the description and to find the contact details of the course coordinator.

How to enrol

1

CHOOSE THE MODE OF STUDY

After you have decided on the course then you will need to choose the Mode of Study. This means either:

  • Internally (I) – attending lectures on site at the Casuarina or Alice Springs Campuses;
  • Externally (E) – engaging in your studies on-line; or
  • Mixed-Mode (M) – attending face-to-face workshops and engaging through on-line learning both before and after workshops.

Courses which are delivered by Batchelor Institute lecturers are offered in Mixed Mode or Externally.

2

APPLY THROUGH SATAC

For the PTS course you can apply directly to Batchelor Institute at go.batchelor.edu.au/pts. For all other courses, you will need to submit your application online through the South Australian Tertiary Education Centre( SATAC) at www.satac.edu.au.

If you are unsure about how to proceed through the on-line application then you can call the SATAC application hotline on (08) 8224 4000 or the CDU help line at (08) 8946 7766.

3

ENROL IN YOUR HIGHER EDUCATION COURSE

Once you have received an offer from SATAC, you will need to enrol in your course at Charles Darwin University. Enrolments for Semester 1 2016 open on December 8th. You need to either enrol on-line or download an application form.

Remember to look at the units in the course to see the location for where they are offered. If they are offered at Batchelor or Desert People’s Centre (DPC) you can enrol in units Internally (I) as you will be travelled to attend week-long workshops. Workshop timetables are available so that you can see when you are required to travel. For those units which are not offered either in Batchelor or at DPC you can enrol in External mode.
