The role of the Research Committee is to advise the Academic Board on research policies, strategies, initiatives and innovation that promote and support the research and research training directions of the Institute. The Committee oversees the research activity of the Institute in line with the Institute’s Research Plan and the Institute Strategic Plan. This includes provisions for the development of research policy and strategies, management of research ethics processes, the promotion of research initiatives and programs, the monitoring and reporting on research output, and oversight of the performance and processes supporting higher degree by research candidates.
The aim of the Research Committee is to support the development of a strong research culture, foster excellence in research and build research capability. The term of appointment for members of the Research Committee is two years.
